Research about Hmong women or gender
is the work that Hnub Tshiab does to study, explore, and
generate awareness about dynamics within the Hmong
community and how we might work together more proactively
to address concerns that are harming us and our community.

Social Change, Gender and
Leadership Survey |
|
Hnub Tshiab: Hmong Women Achieving Together is gathering
information about the role of social change, gender and
leadership in the Hmong community. We are most interested
in understanding the 1) barriers to creating social change
you might see in the community, 2) what leadership skills
you believe are necessary for creating social change, and
3) your thoughts related to engaging the community in
dialogues around gender equity issues. Your responses will
help us design and deliver a series of workshops on social
change, gender and leadership to the Hmong community and
to those who work with the Hmong for the fall of 2008.

We are proud to share our new report, Reflections on
Social Change, which is the result of our own
reflection about our 10 years of working on social change
and community engagement efforts with people in the Hmong
community. We engaged stakeholders to whom we were both
known and less known to figure out the best way to move
forward in creating positive social change to improve the
lives of Hmong women. We hope that you will find the
report as informative as it has been for us as it assists
us in transforming our own organization and our efforts.
